Islamic calendar,
calendar used by Muslims, having cycles of 30 years, 12 months in a year, and alternate months of 30 and 29 days, with a day added to the last month each second and third year. It counts the years from A.D. 622, the date of Muhammad's flight from Mecca to Medina.
